| Darlene lives in New York, USA in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, with her husband, and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniels which they breed and show under the prefix Gray Stone. Mostly self-taught, Darlene has been doing freelance illustrations for friends and non-profit organizations for many years. Three years ago she began studying watercolor & landscape painting. Her favorite illustrators; Beatrix Potter, Norman Rockwell and Disney animators influence her artwork. Her animals are personalities and even her landscapes have an air of fantasy. Her work has been shown extensively locally and she was the featured artist of the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club National Specialty 2003. |
