Pira Urosevic was born in 1964 to a pair of successful graphic artists. Affer spending many yeors avoiding art (that teenage rebellion thing), studying anthropology at university and having children she took the plunge and picked up a paintbrush. She did her first painting at the age of 30... and affer a lot of encouragement from her husband, three kids and parents, she finally, started selling her works in January 2001. Since then she has rediscovered her love of pen and ink, and had great success with her watercolors and acrylics. She loves to work in bold colors that jump off the page and her favorite subject is cats... which is not surprising since she lives with two and they are most accommodating subjects. She has many styles that she feels are reflections of her emotional state at the moment that she is working on a piece. Always observing her surroundings, she is fascinated by the play of colors, shadows and textures in her environment, whether naturally occurring or man-made. She likes to create art that makes others smile and is thrilled that she has sold her works to individuals all over North America.
