The Lucky Star Cavalier Rescue (USA)

The Lucky Star began in 1999 as the result of one woman's dream to free a Cavalier from the continued horrors of life in a mass production puppy mill. Through private donations, in the first year alone, Lucky Star was able to purchase 32 Cavaliers from publicly held auctions across the country.

In January, 2000, Lucky Star was granted nonprofit status. Lucky Star hopes that the buying of breeding stock from people who mass produce dogs can in some way prevent even more puppies from ending up in the hands of unscrupulous breeders. Most National Breed Rescue organizations have policies where they will not purchase dogs, that is where Lucky Star comes in - we attend these auctions and then turn the Cavaliers over to Rescue for medical attention and rehoming.

To see a Cavalier living in the conditions these dogs have come from is horrifying and heartbreaking. There are many more Cavaliers awaiting rescue out there - and that is where your help is needed. Donations are desperately needed to continue to free these lost souls from a life most people can never imagine. Fundraisers are ongoing - one of which is the T-shirt deigned by Mary Grace Eubank which is displayed on the Lucky Star website. Please browse through the website and see the pictures of all the Cavaliers WE have helped rescue to date - and know that we all have truly made a difference.
